Eat ESG for breakfast

On April 3rd Eurex will host their ESG Breakfast Briefing in Amsterdam. Although seemingly new, ESG has been around for over a decade, and has become a popular factor for asset managers worldwide to allocate AuM to invest in responsible and sustainable companies.

ESG, or Environmental, Social and Governance are the three key criteria on which companies or businesses are scaled to measure the ethical and sustainable impact an investment in these companies will have. Where in the past, this type of investing was more around avoiding, or steering away from ‘bad’ industries, ESG investing principles are based on the positive and long-term effects of being ‘good’ to the environments invested companies act in, and more importantly that this has a positive financial impact on results. Because in the end long-term investing is all about finding alpha, and what better than making the world a little bit better while finding value for investors?

Together with STOXX Ltd., Eurex gathers in Amsterdam to discuss the opportunities and risks involved with ESG investing as they recently launched three ESG based futures on three STOXX indices around exclusions, low carbon and climate impact. Industry experts from clearing, buy and sell-side will share their views and knowledge on the subject, while enjoying what should be a locally produced, free-range, organic and sustainable breakfast.
